my gosh, my body hates me

Oh god...

What is up with this last week? For both myself and everyone I know, it has SUCKED. Most of my friends are sick, I came down with another cold (2nd one in two months, if I'm correct), ripped my leg shaving (not major, but very painful still, and possibly infected), couldn't concentrate studying for my tests (Thank G-d I did well on my Language Arts, no idea on Government), dogs ran off twice (guess who got to play fetch)...had a hard time concentrating on writing due to being sick, so my Valentine's Day fic will be late. :(

In fact, the only good news so far is I lost 2 pounds since last week, and my LA test results, and an old friend came to visit synagogue today.

I think one of my favorite things about writing is not just writing itself, but imaging, and above all: Research. I love finding out things about what I'm writing. I was talking to my mom about my story characters (she has no idea what the subject of the fanfic is, thank G-d :P), and was talking to her about Giovanni (Iian as I call him outside of ff stuff) and him wanting to give away Rosa on her wedding day (upcoming fic?), and she asked if he and Seren were Jewish.

"Iian was Catholic, and converted to Judaism when he was young to marry Ser. Why?"
"In Judaism, the father doesn't give her away. After Bat Mitsvah, she's her own person."
"Oh.Didn't know that." *scribbles down note*

Amazing what you can find out without meaning to. In fact, I'm just having fun looking over Judaism in general to figure out where Seren is observant, since there's varying levels. So far, she's leaning light conservative, not quite reform.
And Giovanni? Pfft. Pretty much just along for the ride on that one. :-P
